Top 5 Things You'll Get Burpees For at CrossFit Synapse:
1. Know your Vocab.
If you've been to Synapse for about a month, you've snatched, cleaned, jerked, deadlifted, and pulled your knees to your elbows probably around 4 times each, if not more. If you've been at Synapse for over a month and you ask what a snatch is, you can do burpees and then cement that lift into your head. Seriously. Learn this stuff, it's good for you.
2. Put your phone down.
Texting during class? Again, put it down and learn something useful. No instagramming the wod, Karen.
3. Dropping the damn bars and 10-lb plates.
That shit is expensive!
4. Whining or Cheating
Your job is to be an athlete and do what you're told. The stuff on the whiteboard is there for a reason. In fact, it's there for a very very specific reason. To get you strong and fast as quickly as possible. Do not whine about it. A lot of thought has gone into your programming, and if you don't like something, it probably means YOU specifically need to do it. Skipping out on something in the workout simply because "you don't feel like doing it" takes away from your program. And yes, we think about each and every one of you when creating these amazing ass-kicker WODs. So stop complaining, and do your job.
5. Name Dropping
We don't care who you've worked out with, who has coached you, what competitions you've been to, or what CrossFit "athlete" you saw at the mall. We care about if you can squat. We care about YOU. Not your new CrossFit socks, and definitely not how much weight that Games competitor lifted last week. You are WAY more important to us than they are. If they want help with their squats then they'll become important to us too.
