| Last week we discussed intention. You walked into Synapse for a reason, and most likely it was because something is not working in the most efficient way possible, whether it be in terms of exercise or transforming your life. You realized something wasn’t working right and you needed to fix it. This week we focus on how to make that change, and I’m giving you two videos that dictate, to me, the two best ways to approach change. The first video on the left is a lecture by the great Greg Amundson, a pioneer in CrossFit. The video states that the first change that happens in any transformation is in thought itself. The second video is a speech made by Art Williams, a self-made multi-millionaire who gives quite possibly the best advice and most motivational speech of all time about getting what you want. People come into the gym all the time and say, “I’m going to change my diet.” DO IT. “I want to get better at my lifts.” DO IT. Change in your thought process the possibility of failure. Change the “I want to do this,” to “I’m doing this.” There is no “should,” “want to,” “feel like.” There is what you do and what you don’t do. If you’re going to be a millionaire, do it. If you’re going to make it to Regionals, do it. As your coaches we’re going to help get you there, and we’ll believe in your goals with every ounce of positive thought we can, but if your vocabulary and thought process starts with a dream, and not an action, the possibility of success starts to slip away. | |
